LA MAISON TALBOOTH

“A stunning country house boutique retreat, boasting twelve luxuriously designed bedrooms, each with breathtaking views of the Dedham Vale.”

With every individually designed bedroom adopting the name of an iconic poet from recent centuries, Maison Talbooth is as rich in character as it is quality. The classical features of the original 19th Century country home, have been restored and are highlighted by the delicate modernisation of the property. Fur throws adorn the crisp white bed linen and are juxtaposed by the statement furnishings, in the form of animal print armchairs and mirrored coffee tables. A short walk along the gravel path reveals the hotel’s very own serene escape. The heated open-air pool is an opulent indulgence, appreciated all year-round. Steam rises from the water, while guests warm up by the pool-house’s open fire and help themselves to treats at the honesty bar.

Honesty and trust are values that Maison Talbooth uphold and expect from their guests. A turndown service is offered by the hotel, all guests have to do is leave their key at reception and trust that the staff will deliver on this added luxury. For dinner, guests are transported to and from the hotel’s fine dining restaurant, Le Talbooth, by the courtesy Range Rover and return to drawn curtains, fluffy pillows and a stress-free environment.

Highs

  • Each room is individually designed and can be requested before visiting, ensuring guests are entirely happy with their experience.

  • Maison Talbooth offers a turndown service. Allowing guests to slip away each evening and hop straight into bed.

  • The open-air pool offers a tranquil escape and refreshing alternative to the indoor pools more commonly offered at other hotels.

  • A member of staff will drive guests to Le Talbooth Restaurant in the hotel courtesy car

  • Le Talbooth Restaurant sits alongside the peaceful river and offers seasonal fine dining dishes and a delicious children’s menu.

Lows

  • After visiting the pool and Le Talbooth restaurant, there is little left to do. This hotel is truly meant for relaxing.

  • Each room is different, meaning not all possess a bath and have a shower instead.

  • The hotel is very exclusive, meaning larger groups may overpower the retreat and dominate the pool area. Although this is down to chance and cannot be foreseen.
